Instructions Write a two-page double-spaced brief to an imaginary president-elect who does not have a national security background. Explain to him the nature of the National Security Council System, how it has evolved, how the president has managed it historically, how the CIA has evolved and how the rest of the intelligence community functions as a source and a tool of foreign policy. Write your brief in third person, not first. No “I” or “my” or “we” etc. The brief “can” take the tone of a letter but make sure that you include references to the readings and materials from Lessons using citation form (see below). This assignment must be based on the course-assigned readings only (Weeks 4-6). Please cite sources in your brief with Turabian in-text citations (see the Quick Guide in Forums), and write a Reference List at the end of your assignment.
