I am working on my masters in School Psychology. The paper series is taking a look at a problem that can be addressed by implementing a program through the lens of a school psychologist. I chose to discuss suicide prevention and paper #1 was researching a program you would implement to address the issue of suicide in a middle school, however the program I chose to write about in paper #1 was not at all correct. I was told to look into and write about gatekeeper training as a potential program. Paper #2 is essentially presenting the findings to the principal of the school and explaining the program and why it should be implemented. The professor was specific in highlighting this is to go over cost, time, training, who would be implementing the program, the effectiveness of the program and potential downfalls and how we might address them. Unfortunately the first paper I wrote will be of no help (hence why I need the help) but the notes and rubric are attached to paper 1 so that you can see her notes and what she expects. Paper Two: Audience: School Principal (i.e., a professional, non-psychologist audience) Using the knowledge you gained in Paper One, write a shorter “executive summary” report for your school principal. Review your conclusions as to the evidence base and recommend a specific program for implementation. Remember, evidence-based doesn’t mean it works for all, so be sure to address how the intervention fits the needs and population of your school and consider implementation concerns (e.g., costs, time commitment). Note: If the principal doesn’t accept your recommendations, you’ll need to do some re-thinking and check with me before Paper Three. Estimated length: 4-5 pages, double-spaced, with reference list in APA format. Use sub-headings for sections!
